Joining Team T.A.R.A. is a wonderful opportunity for animal lovers to network and make friends while helping homeless animals. Everyone involved in The Animal Rescue Alliance is an unpaid volunteer. The time and efforts of each team member is invaluable.
There are a variety of ways you can contribute to Team T.A.R.A. as we work together to improve the lives of the animals in our care. The following volunteer positions are available:
Adoption Event Team Member
Assist Team Lead with all aspects of an adoption event.
Decorating Team Member
Assist Decorating Team Lead in coordinating and creating visual display for events.
Transport animals to and from events and medical appointments.
Provide exercise for dogs at our boarding facility.
Fundraising Team Member
Assist Team Lead in coordinating and operating fundraising activities.
Research and write grants. Previous experience preferred.
Street Team Lead
Research and maintain street level marketing and promotions; such as, donation barrels, posters, flyers, etc.
Street Team Member
Assist Team Lead in maintaining street level marketing and promotions.
Adoption Follow-Up Counselor
Contact adopters for updates and to answer follow-up questions regarding their new family member.
Cat Adoption Assistant
Assist in adoption process by calling Veterinarian offices and Landlords, gathering required information and various other duties involved in screening cat applications.
Dog Adoption Assistant
Assist in adoption process by calling Veterinarian offices and Landlords and gathering required information.
Cat Care Assistant
Help maintain clean and comfortable living conditions for cats at PETCO or PetSmart Adoption Centers.
Cat Socialization Specialist
Spend time with the cats that are housed at PETCO and PetSmart Adoption Centers, helping them become social with a variety of different people.
Help maintain clean and comfortable living conditions for dogs at our boarding facility. We have two separate kennel "shifts" - a morning and an evening shift, each requires only a 1-2 hour time commitment.
The T.A.R.A. Board would like to interview individuals with dog training experience to develop a program to educate volunteers and foster parents on standard training techniques.
Bathe and groom animals upon intake, prior to adoption events, and before going to their forever home.
Provide safe and loving home for animals awaiting their forever family.
Medical Team Member
Assist Team Lead in providing basic medical care to our animals. Experience not required but must be an active kennel worker for at least two months prior to being a part of the medical team.
Handle general repairs at our boarding facility; such as, lawn care, minor electrical work, minor plumbing work, fence repair, small construction jobs, etc.
Create flyers, & other misc. marketing material for our group.
As a volunteer with The Animal Rescue Alliance, it is important that you share in our mission and are a good representation of the group to the public at large. Because it is imperative that our mission be upheld and not undermined by any of our members we are asking that, before you decide to volunteer, you read our mission and the following statements and be sure that you are in agreement and will follow them at all times.
